I have had six treatments so far. From the QSwitch YAG laser and the Alexandrite laser. I notice it's fading but not too quickly. It's a black tattoo and my skin is extremely fair. I thought it would go quicker. Has anyone done this in a similar situation and had a full removal?
You are getting scammed. Laser tattoo removal, actually only fades a tattoo on fair complected people. You may be able to lighten it up enough to get a better tattoo done. But, having your baby fresh skin back, is a myth. Those so called doctors should not be allowed to call it removal.
I love my tattoos and so I have a slightly biased opinion. But I have seen the scars and heard enough laser stories to know that they are not all they are hyped up to be.
High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles YAG (Yard Auxiliary, General) training vessels are wooden boats built between 1954 and 1958, and based at CFB Esquimalt in Esquimalt, British Columbia, Canada. The vessels are used for training Canadian Forces regular naval officers, naval reservists, and members of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets in basic seamanship, vessel handling, and navigation. According to the Department of National Defence, in 2000, a total of 1830 personnel were deployed on the YAGs for a total of 585 days and steamed over 25,000 nautical miles (46,000 km) in support of training. YAGs displace 70 tonnes, and are divided into five major belowdecks compartments: right forward, a chain locker, then the forward cabin, containing the galley, one of the heads (washrooms) and the officers eating and sleeping areas, as well as the gyroscopic (gyro) compass. Laser bonding is a marking technique that uses lasers and other forms of radiant energy to bond an additive marking substance to a wide range of substrates. Invented in 1997, this patent protected technology delivers permanent marks on metals, glass and ceramic parts for a diverse range of industrial and manual applications, ranging from aerospace to the awards engraving industries. It differs from the more widely known techniques of laser engraving and laser ablation in that it is an additive process, adding material to the substrate to form the marking instead of removing it as in those techniques. For metals, parts can be permanently marked with high contrast, high resolution marks for logos, barcoding, identification and serialization purposes, without damage to the substrate. With glass and ceramics, complex surfaces can be decorated or marked and the traditional firing process replaced by a laser, with its permanent bond fired on in seconds. Laser bonding has been achieved by Nd:YAG, CO2 laser, Fiber laser and Diodepumped solidstate laser and can be made by other forms of radiant energy. Laser bonding is often referred to as CerMark, CerMarked, or CerMarking Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 92 Publication Date: 2010/04/23 Language: English Dimensions: 9.02 x 5.98 x 0.22 inches
We report laser desorption from a Room Temperature Ionic Liquid (RTIL) as a novel source for time of flight mass spectrometry. We use the 2nd harmonic of an Nd: YAG laser to deposit intensities of 150 MW/cm2 via backside illumination onto our RTIL desorption sample. A microstructured metal grid situated on top of a glass microscope slide coated with RTIL serves as our desorption sample. The RTIL we use, 1Butyl, 3Methylimidazolium Hexafluorophosphate, remains liquid at pressures below 108 torr. The use of liquid desorption sample allows for improved surface conditions, homogeneity and sample life as compared to Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization (MALDI) techniques. Our desorption technique is also unique as it allows the study of both multiphoton and acoustic desorption processes within the same time of flight spectra. Our technique yields intrinsically high resolution, low noise data. We observe differences between ion species in their preference for desorption by a particular desorption method. Specifically, we observe desorption solely by acoustic means of an entire RTIL molecule adducted with an RTIL cation. Finally, we report the applicability of this technique for the desorption of biomolecules Author: Harris, Peter Ronald Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 112 Publication Date: 2011/09/11 Language: English Dimensions: 9.69 x 7.44 x 0.23 inches
First implantations of Ba and Cs atoms into solid He by means of laser ablation were done in 1993 at MPQ (Max Planck Institut fr Quantenoptik). Solid He is very well suited for high precision spin physics. The implanted atoms diffuse only very slowly out of the investigation region (few hours) in contrast to superfluid He (less than one second). Atoms in solid He are mainly lost due to dimer and cluster formation. A constant number of foreign atoms can be obtained by applying pulses from the same Nd:YAG laser used for the ablation process, thereby destroying the clusters. Longitudinal spin relaxation times of 1 second for Cs in solid He and magnetic resonance linewidths of 2,kHz (two orders of magnitude smaller than in superfluid He) were measured. The lines were broadened by residual magnetic fields and later, linewidths of only 20,Hz were obtained after reduction of magnetic field inhomogeneities. Doped solid He is such a complex and unique system that it has led to many interesting discoveries, some of them are discussed in detail in this work. As the summary, carrier relaxation dynamics in nondoped BSO and Cr doped BSO is studied using the PIA change by nanosecond pulse excitation using a frequency doubled Nd: YAG laser. The timeresolved PIA decay in nondoped BSO relaxes in a few hundred milli second whereas for the Cr doped BSO, this happens in time of the order of hundred seconds. The Cr defects in BSO increase the density of the shallow and deep trap levels that increase relatively the life time of the charge carriers compared to nondoped BSO. The microoptical mechanism for the PIA decay is related to the carrier tunneling between localized state of each Cr ions than carrier trapping. From the optical absorption spectra measurements, the Cr doped BSO has shifted the intrinsic edge to the longer wavelength and gave rise to new absorption bands in the visible and NIR ranges Author: Wubetu, Getasew Admasu Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 68 Publication Date: 2011/01/04 Language: English Dimensions: 6.00 x 9.02 x 0.16 inches

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Synthetic alexandrite is a crystal which has been created by the floating zone method. This method is also used to synthetically grow a variety of crystals: YAG (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) in white, blue, pink and several other shades, ruby, chrysoberyl and, most and foremost, alexandrite. This method is similar to the pulling (Czochralski method), when the crystal is pulled vertically, but, instead, here it is pulled horizontally, using a tungsten dish and slowmelting technique, where the dish is pulled over a period of time under a heating element. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Neodymium is a chemical element with the symbol Nd and atomic number 60. It is a soft silvery metal which tarnishes in air. Neodymium was discovered in 1885. It is present in significant quantities in the ore minerals monazite and bastnsite. Neodymium is not found naturally in metallic form or unaccompanied by other lanthanides and it is usually refined for general use. Neodymium has several important applications: it is a constituent of neodymium magnets, which are widely used in motors, loudspeakers and numerous appliances. Neodymium is a popular additive in glass, giving it a characteristic reddishpurple color; this glass is used in lasers emitting infrared light with the wavelength of 1.0541.062 micrometers. Neodymium is also used in Nd:YAG lasers to generate 1.064 micrometer light. This is one of the most significant solidstate lasers. Neodymium is a key component of an alloy used to make highpower lightweight magnets for electric motors of hybrid cars, and in generators for wind turbines. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Potassium titanyl phosphate (KTiOPO4) or KTP is a nonlinear optical material which is commonly used for frequency doubling diode pumped solidstate lasers such as Nd: YAG and other neodymiumdoped lasers. The material has a relatively high optical damage threshold ( 15 J/cm ), a great optical nonlinearity and excellent thermal stability. However, it is prone to photochromic damage (called grey tracking) during highpower 1064 nm secondharmonic generation which tends to limit its use to low and midpower systems. It is also frequently used as an optical parametric oscillator for near IR generation up to 4 um. It is particularly suited to high power operation as an optical parametric oscillator due to its high damage threshold and large crystal aperture. The high degree of birefringent walkoff between the pump signal and idler beams present in this material limit its use as an optical parametric oscillator for very low power applications. PRISM YAG LASER FOR TATTOO REMOVAL
what's the difference between a YAG laser & an argon laser?
which has better results in post cataract opacification surgery?
yes please..what are the advantages and disadvantages of using each in posterior capsulotomy?
nd Yag laser is the standard for post cataract capsulotomy. It is a photo disruptive laser (does not heat tissue) that focuses it's energy into an extremely small spot and creates a small "explosion" inside the eye that is directed back toward the surgeon. This "explosion" mechanically opens a hole in the opacified capsule. By linking a series of holes together, the surgeon can create a large enough hole in the capsule to completely clear the pupillary zone of all optical interference. It can also be used for iridectomies by mechanically creating a hole in the iris for patients with acute closed angle glaucoma or a high risk of developing it. I recommend it more than argon for iridectomies because you tend to see more iridectomy holes "seal up" again follwing argon laser.
The argon laser is a photo thermal "hot" laser which by creating extreme heat in a very localized area can destroy tissue by burning it. Argon lasers have many more uses in the medical world than Yag lasers. In the eye, argon laser can be used to treat posterior segment problems of the retina for diabetic retinopathy, retinal holes, retinal bleeds, etc. More anteriorly, the argon laser is useful for iridectomy of the iris (creation of a hole in the iris to allow fluid from the posterior segment to flow directly through the iris into the anterior segment). This procedure is most commonly used for cases of acute closed angle glaucoma. It can also be used in the trabeculum of the eye to increase outflow of aqueous in patients with chronic open angle glaucoma. Hope this helped.
