Yag Training Vessels

Yag Training Vessels

$68.51

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles YAG (Yard Auxiliary, General) training vessels are wooden boats built between 1954 and 1958, and based at CFB Esquimalt in Esquimalt, British Columbia, Canada. The vessels are used for training Canadian Forces regular naval officers, naval reservists, and members of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets in basic seamanship, vessel handling, and navigation. According to the Department of National Defence, in 2000, a total of 1830 personnel were deployed on the YAGs for a total of 585 days and steamed over 25,000 nautical miles (46,000 km) in support of training. YAGs displace 70 tonnes, and are divided into five major belowdecks compartments: right forward, a chain locker, then the forward cabin, containing the galley, one of the heads (washrooms) and the officers eating and sleeping areas, as well as the gyroscopic (gyro) compass. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A phosphor is a substance that exhibits the phenomenon of phosphorescence (sustained glowing after exposure to energized particles such as electrons or ultraviolet photons).Phosphors are transition metal compounds or rare earth compounds of various types. The most common uses of phosphors are in CRT displays and fluorescent lights. CRT phosphors were standardized beginning around World War II and designated by the letter P followed by a number. Dispersion (Optics)

Dispersion (Optics)

$70.1

In optics, dispersion is the phenomenon in which the phase velocity of a wave depends on its frequency, or alternatively when the group velocity depends on the frequency. Media having such a property are termed dispersive media. Dispersion is sometimes called chromatic dispersion to emphasize its wavelengthdependent nature, or groupvelocity dispersion (GVD) to emphasize the role of the group velocity. The most familiar example of dispersion is probably a rainbow, in which dispersion causes the spatial separation of a white light into components of different wavelengths (different colors). However, dispersion also has an effect in many other circumstances: for example, GVD causes pulses to spread in optical fibers, degrading signals over long distances; also, a cancellation between groupvelocity dispersion and nonlinear effects leads to soliton waves. Price Dispersion

Price Dispersion

$86.03

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In economics, price dispersion is variation in prices across sellers of the same item, holding fixed the items characteristics. Price dispersion can be viewed as a measure of trading frictions (or, tautologically, as a violation of the law of one price). It is often attributed to consumer search costs or unmeasured attributes (such as the reputation) of the retailing outlets involved. There is a difference between price dispersion and price discrimination. The latter concept involves a single provider charging different prices to different customers for an identical good. Price dispersion, on the other hand, is best thought of as the outcome of many firms potentially charging different prices, where customers of one firm find it difficult to patronize (or are perhaps unaware of) other firms due to the existence of search costs. Wage Dispersion

Wage Dispersion

$58.94

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Wage dispersion is an economic term which refers to the amount of variation in wages encountered in an economy.European countries have in general much less wage dispersion than the U.S. does. This is due to the fact the US are dealing with competition from abroad in a different way; they allowed the wages of lowerskilled workers to fall relative to those of highly skilled ones (under the premise of keeping some of the jobs that might have been outsourced). London Dispersion Force

London Dispersion Force

$70.1

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles London dispersion forces, named after the German American physicist Fritz London (sometimes known as quantum induced instantaneous polarization forces), are weak intermolecular forces that arise from the interactive forces between temporary multipoles in molecules without permanent multipole moments. London dispersion forces are also known as dispersion forces (see dispersion), London forces, or induced dipoledipole forces. Emulsion Dispersion

Emulsion Dispersion

$60.54

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Emulsions are thermodynamically unstable liquid/liquid dispersions that are stabilized, in general, by surfactants. Surfactants are usually added to emulsion systems, assembling in the interface of the emulsion droplets, thus providing a protective membrane that prevents the droplets from flocculating or coalescing and thus enhancing the droplets formation and stability.
