they look somewhat like protective eyewear you would have on while welding but trust me they are NOT for welding. they seem to have a metal/chrome visor like...thing between the actualy lens and eye socket, that fits perfectly to the conture of his face. so kinda like the way goggles would fit/sit on your face (letting very little to no light in from the sides) but with a thin metal frame like sunglasses. does anyone have any clue what this could be?

The answer is C. HCL is a very corrosive chemical which can eat your skin! Use goggles to protect your eyes from any splashes, an apron to protect most of your body/clothes, and gloves to save your hands. There's no heat produced just from the acid, so there's no use from the heat-resistance unless you're planning on using heat in the experiment.
