Flexcharge Solar Panel Blocking Diodes . One-way diode prevents current from leaking from your battery back into the solar panel where it is dissipated as heat, depleting your battery. Install in the junction box in the positive line, one diode per panel. Handles up to 45 volts or 8 amps. Sold in pairs.
In 1977, record labels all around the world were snapping up bands perceived to be punk, at which time CBS Canada signed Toronto's The Diodes. The only problem is the label didn't know quite what to do with them, and despite their popularity with other ba
Optic Connector How do you connect Video O/P of Yamaha AV Amplifier to Video input on TV?
Helping a friend with setting up his home cinema system. The Amp is a YAMAHA DSP-AZ1. We have the DVD player connected to the optical input of the Amp, and the sound is coming out though the hi-fi speakers just fine.
However, we cannot get a picture on the TV screen. We have the monitor o/p of the Amp plugged into the co-axial video input on the TV. The on screen display (OSD) of the Amp displays on the TV ok, but no DVD picture.
We've tried all the AV input modes on the TV. Also made sure the OSD was turned off on the DSP-AZ1. Perhaps the fiber optic cable only carries audio???
See PDF for rear connectors: http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/av/pdfs/moreinfo/dspaz1.pdf
Thanks.
You need to use the component video inputs from the DVD and Cable box (if they don't have comonent video- the red, green, blue - then use s-video if you can) to the component video inputs on the back of the receiver. The fiber optic cable is for audio only. You will then need a component cable from the receiver video output to the tv component input. The DSP-AZ1 doesn't seem to have any hdmi inputs/outputs. If they're there but I didn't notice them, use them instead of the component video

Motor Laser How much work is done by the motor in a CD player to make a CD spin, starting from rest?
How much work is done by the motor in a CD player to make a CD spin, starting from rest? The CD has a diameter of 12.5 cm and a mass of 15.3 g. The laser scans at a constant tangential velocity of 1.10 m/s. Assume that the music is first detected at a radius of 20.1 mm from the center of the disk. Ignore the small circular hole at the CD's center.
Radius of CD = R = (12.5)/2 cm = 0.0625m
Momemt of Inertia of CD = MI = 0.5*m*R^2 = 0.5* 0.0153kg*(0.0625)^2 = 3.0*10^-5 kg.m^2

How much work is done by the motor in a CD player to make a CD spin, starting from rest? The CD has a diameter?
How much work is done by the motor in a CD player to make a CD spin, starting from rest? The CD has a diameter of 12.8 cm and a mass of 15.8 g. The laser scans at a constant tangential velocity of 1.26 m/s. Assume that the music is first detected at a radius of 20.6 mm from the center of the disk. Ignore the small circular hole at the CD's center.
Radius of CD = R = (12.8)/2 cm = 0.064m
Momemt of Inertia of CD = MI = 0.5*m*R^2 = 0.5* 0.0158kg*(0.064)^2 = 3.24*10^-5 kg.m^2
Required initial rotational velocity = w = tangential velocity / initial radius 20.6mm
w = 1.26 / 0.0206 = 61.2 rad/s
(not taken into account by the first answer)
Work done = WD = increase in rotational kinetic energy = 0.5*MI*w^2
WD = 0.5 * 3.24*10^-5 * (61.2)^2 J
WD = 0.0605 J
(Of course in reality WD is much greater because the CD drive spindle etc. has a much greater mass than the CD itself)
Sensor Physics Physics - How do I work out the resolution of my sensor?
I have made a potentiometer into a device that can measure angles, however I need to work out the resolution of the sensor. I have worked out the sensitivity fine but I am confused with resolution.
The smallest angle I can measure is one degree and the smallest voltage output that I can see is 0.01V
I know that resolution is to do with the smallest change but do not know the equation to work it out.
In-case it helps, I am measuring angles between 0 and 180 degrees and my voltage has a range between 0.25 to 1.97.
Thanks in advance!
why do u need an equation in this case? u know 1 degree is the smallest detectable change in input. and hence resolution is 1 degree.

What type of sensor do I need. Physics simple lab?
I have an experiment in which I have to calculate the time it takes for a weight to falls a certain distance and I would like to know what the type of sensor I could use.
Due to the procedure of the experiment I need the sensor to detect a particular part of the weight and for this reason an object( i dont know what) could be attached to the weight. Could I use an infra red sensor that measures the temperature of this specific object which is attached to the weight?
If not what else?
Thank You
1. Use a movie camera or camcorder and count the frames between the start and stop events
2. Use two photo sensors
3. Use two electromagnetic sensors.
4. Use a tape with time marks.
Please note that measuring a temperature is not a good idea for a number of reasons.
Nitrogen Laser What cutting conditions are used to cut 11ga mild steel with nitrogen on a Hankwang laser?
I currently run a 3000 watt Hankwang laser and I am told that I can cut 11ga mild steel with nitrogen. What should I set my cutting conditions to and what size nozzle and gas pressure should I use?
Nitrogen is one of the most critical elements for all life forms. In agricultural systems it is essential for the production of crops for feed, food, and fiber. The ever-increasing world population requires increasing use of nitrogen in agriculture to supply human needs for dietary protein. Worldwide demand for nitrogen will increase as a direct response to increasing population. Nitrogen in the Environment provides a wholistic perspective and comprehensive treatment of nitrogen. The scope of this book is diverse covering a range of topics and issues related to furthering our understanding of nitrogen in the environment at farm and national levels. Issues of nitrogen from its effects on crops and human nutrition to nitrogen in ground water, watersheds, streams, rivers, and coastal marine environments are discussed to provide a broad view of the problem and support scientists, researchers, and engineers in formulating comprehensive solutions.* The only source which presents an international, wholistic perspective of the effects of nitrogen in the environment with worldwide mitigation practices * Provides details on how to improve the quality of the environment by analyzing the development of emerging technologies* Develops strategies to be used by soil scientists, agronomists, hydrologists, and geophysicists for broad scale improvement of nitrogen efficiency

LE N2 low pressure longitudinal nitrogen laser - the story (reload)
Calculate the energy of a photon of electromagnetic radiation at each of the following wavelengths.?
1)632.8nm (wavelength of red light from helium-neon laser)
2)12.24nm (wavelength of microwave oven)
3)337.1nm (wavelength of nitrogen laser)
This is something you need to learn. I will give you the example then you need to figure out the others.
equations: c = λ*v, where c = speed of light in a vacuum = 2.9979 x 10^8 m/s; λ = wavelength in meters; v = frequency in s^-1 or 1/s, also Hz, hertz.
Energy = E = hv = hc/λ, where h = planck's constant = 6.626 x 10^-34 J*s
NOTE: 1 J = 1 joule = 1 kg*m^2/s^2
1. λ = 632.8 nm(1 m)/(1 x 10^9 nm) = 6.328 x 10^-7 m
E = (6.626 x 10^-34 J*s)(2.9979 x 10^8 m/s)/(6.328 x 10^-7 m) = 3.155 x 10^-19 J
Do you see how all of the units cancel except the joules?
1st step: convert nm to m
2nd step: calculate energy
That's how you do it. Now let's see you do the next two.
