A) at what two points between object and screen may a converging lens with a 3.00 cm focal lenght be placed to obtain an image on the screen?
B) what is the magnification of the image for each position of the lens?
The imaging equation is
1/do + 1/d1 = 1/f
f = 3.00 cm
d0 + di = 18.0 cm
Substitute for do:
1/(18.0 - di) + 1/di = 1/3.00
di + (18.0 - di) = di*(18.0 - di)/3
54 = 18.0*di - di²
di² - 18.0*di + 54 = 0
di = 3.8, 14.2
di = image distance, or the distance from lens to the screen.
So the lens may be placed 3.8 cm from the screen, or 14.2 cm from the screen.
If the lens in 3.8 cm from the screen, the magnification is di/do = 3.8/14.2 = 0.27
If the lens is 14.2 cm from the screen, the magnification is di/do 14.2/3.8 = 3.74

Fitting like a glove and ready to lead you into the fray, the Spy Optics Logan Sunglasses feature a sleek, dense propionate finish that is all business. With wraparound styling, these baby's go aerodynamic on a straight line cliff shot, bike trail bender, or during motor assisted access. An 8-base Arch lens maintains clear vision with a natural eye curved designed, while a gnarly tough and light Grilamid frame keeps you floating like a butterfly, so you wont get stung like a bee after a mega jump or anticipated crash landing. A built-in hinge system gives cool styling and a head hugging fit. Give 'em the love.
Optics-what type of lens set up do I need to view an object which is close up, whilst my eyes are at infinity?
The application is an in-helmet screen for displaying information to a motorcylcist. I want my eyes focussed at infinity since this would prove much safer than having to adjust my gaze every few seconds. A HUD is too complicated and expensive - a suitable lens to view a hacked mobile phone screen (say) would work really well. Any ideas?
A lens with a positive diopter, i.e. a convex lens. It sounds like you are sort of reinventing the bifocal with a different position for the reading lens.
Cooled Ccd Camera is a sony handycam CCD-TR87 a good camera?
is it considered a fairly good camera? it does use tapes instead of digital,which sucks,and it doesn't take pictures,only video,but otherwise seems pretty cool.how much is it worth?
That camera, is extremely old. Which gives it a value of about 50 dollars. Sorry kid.
Since its introduction in May of 2008, the Orion StarShoot Pro has sent shockwaves through the astro-imaging community, setting a new standard for price and performance. Now we’ve outdone ourselves again by improving the StarShoot Pro with refined features and functionality to provide the very best in affordable imaging technology. Our enhanced StarShoot Pro V2.0 brings cooled, multi-megapixel color imaging into the realm of never-before-seen affordability. Its Sony 6.1-megapixel color CCD chip boasts a 3032 x 2016 pixel array in a 23.4mm x 15.6mm format. That gives the Pro 6.5 times the image area and over four times the pixels as similarly priced astro CCD cameras. In fact, it uses the same chip found in cameras costing thousands more! The Pro's square 7.8 micron pixel size provides an excellent balance between high resolution and sensitivity. With some cameras in cooler weather conditions, condensation can form on the surface of the optical window, due to the temperature of the optical window being affected by the cooled CCD. Our enhanced design prevents this by virtue of increased distance between the CCD chip and the optical window. You get detail-rich shots with enough resolution to make large format color prints! For the intermediate or advanced astro-imager, or for beginners seeking a camera they won't soon outgrow, the enhanced Orion StarShoot Pro V2.0 delivers award-winning high-resolution performance for an unprecedented low price. Camera Nikon I am purchasing a Nikon camera and have questions about what type I need to purchases.?
The camera's primary use will be to capture photos of quick moving stingrays and fish in aquariums (without causing blurry photos). I am looking at the Nikon d3000. Is this good for the purpose I need? I am also wondering what I should be looking for? Does the camera need to have higher megapixles or less? Does the megapixles matter or just the lens? Any help would be great!
I order to photograph fish in an aquarium you are going to need at least one of three things.
High ISO
A bright Flash
A fast Lens
The D3000 only goes up to 1600 ISO, not nearly sensitive enough for a dark aquarium.
I moved over to the lenses page and it looks like all of the Standard lenses are f/1.4. Very fast. But they dont zoom, so lets move on.
This is better. http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Camera-Lenses/2164/AF-S-NIKKOR-24-70mm-f%252F2.8G-ED.html Its aperture is a little slower at 2.8 but it stays consistent to 70mm so you wont lose light when you zoom in for fish at the back of the tank. If thats too expensive, this one isnt as good, but might not leave dust in your wallet. http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Product/Camera-Lenses/1929/AF-Zoom-NIKKOR-24-85mm-f%252F2.8-4D-IF.html
The flash that comes on your camera is dinky and wont do much good for anything, so if your aquarium allows flash, I'd go ahead and start looking for one here: http://www.nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Flashes/index.page

which brand is better for a digital camera nikon or cannon?
I have been using an old 35mm camera with a 50-200mm lens. I found that I enjoy taking photos and would like to pick it up as one of my hobbies. The problem with the 35mm camera is that you have to buy the film then pay to get them developed, and when you take a lot of pictures it becomes expensive. So I was wondering which digital camera brand is better Nikon or cannon
I would suggest to go with nikon.

Optics Mount Will a Real Steel AK47 Scope Mount Fit on My Airsoft Echo 1 Red Star Akm?
ok i have an echo 1 red star akm and it is more convinet for me to acquire a real steel ak scope mount, will it fit? im taking about the mount thatclamps on to the side of the ak and give s you about 6 inches of picatinny space on the top to mount optics.
thanks
For the most part airsoft guns are made to be 1:1 scale replicas. And I know that Echo1 follows that guideline. So yes it should fit.
