System Diode
can anyone tell me what a one way diode is and what is its purpose?
i need one in a wind turbine system,where can i find such a thing?
It's not usual to call it a one way diode, and I think you're thinking of barrier and rectifier diodes. They have two main uses.
All diodes (except zeners, which are a special case) allow conduction in one direction only and the first use is as a defence against reverse polarities. Whenever I make a device I always put in a diode at the positive terminals to ensure that if I put the battery or transformer on the wrong way round it doesn't blow my circuit up.
The second common use is as a rectifier. If you have an AC source, you can turn it into a DC source by using diodes to allow conduction one way only. Normally you arrange four in what's known as a bridge rectifier, or you can buy them ready-made. You get a wobbly DC and so you smooth it after that by using a capacitor.
Diodes are normally made of phosphorous and boron but a germanium diode is made of, well germanium. It's used in some radios because it has a much smaller signal loss than a barrier diode.
You can think of the diode as the electrical equivalent of the non-return valve.

still need schematic for rca E09304WH tv set. Must find values of resistors in voltage divider system?
the resistors are burned beyond color code recognition. Diodes, filter capacitors are OK. Got to have schematic.
RCA won't put them on internet.
Go to http://www.samsschematics.com. I just visited their website and entered your model number, and viola, they have the tech manual. I've been using Sam's schematics since I was a boy. They have diagrams going back to the dim beginnings of TV and radio. They want $22.00 for it.
