In physics dept transparencies are used in another machine before being used in the laser printer, it's this other machine that finds normal transparencies (100 micron) too thick or stiff. Supplies of the material we were using are exhausted and there is no record of who the supplier was!

unstable power when laser printer is plugged in?

Here is the problem, when I plug in the brothers hl-1440 laster printer to power surge strip, it causes the light on the same strip blinking about every 20 seconds, I also hear a clicking sound from the power surge strip (it could be resetting itself), the printer works fine, it just cause unstable power supply on the circuit, turn the power off on the printer, the problem goes away. What could be the problem? and how to fix this if I still want to use the printer?

The power strip could be going bad or the total load on the power strip could exceed the capacity of the strip with the printer plugged in. How many other devices are plugged into the current power strip? Plug the printer directly into the wall or get a second power strip, not plugged into the first one, to plug the printer into.
