Supply Lab Tattoo Question: What's a proper setting for my power supply?
I have a Lab Digital Power Supply for my tattoo kit and I need to know the proper setting. I've gotten mixed answers from the people I've asked. Some say 9 volts. Some say 12 or 13 volts. Does anyone know for a fact what a good setting would be? (If you're not going to answer this question seriously then don't answer at all)
not sure if I'm correct on this bur I'm pretty sure the higher the volts the faster the needle so depends on the speed you work with that doesn't chew up skin. I'm no pro so i can't recommend anything but ask at a shop

Is it okay to drink Deionized Water in a chemistry lab?
Is Deionized water only used for experimental purposes, or can it be drank? Is it healthier and purer than bottled water? And how expensive or difficult is it to make, because I know that some public schools supply this type of water.
And what does it taste like, just curious?
Distilled water is "purer" than Deionized water, and certainly more pure than most bottled water. Bottled water is often from a spring, or just tap water that has been dechlorinated. That does not mean bottled water is unsafe, it just isn't certified to any chemistry reagent grade level (e.g., ACS, Technical, USP, etc.). True, some bottled water is extremely purified by various methods and may meet or exceed certain grades of chemical purity.
You can drink deionized water. You will have a slightly higher rate of electrolyte depletion, and thus a slightly higher likelihood of water intoxication...but nothing to worry about unless you're planning on consuming massive amounts without balancing out your blood chemistry with food or alternative fluids containing necessary ions.
Number one rule though, don't ever drink anything in a chemistry lab. If you end up with no complications (labware that had traces of heavy metals, or a myriad of other possible toxins, etc), it's just bad practice and shows you aren't respecting the lab environs.
Distilled water is slightly more expensive than deionized because it not only has had most of the volatile and soluble/insoluble contaminants removed, but all but the slightest traces of common ions/radicals like sodium, chloride, etc. You would be surprised how much double distilled water, or other forms of ultrapure water manufactured by other methods cost!
