State Diode
What will happen if less voltage is given to a LED light?More?
I'm wondering what will happen if more or less voltage is given to a LED light, like a single diode. Example: if the LED is stated as a 12V, what would happen if i attach it to a 6v power supply?
It has to have a certain amount of voltage to actually work, but once it reaches that voltage, it will glow, but not as bright without the right voltage. too much will burn it.

Is there a circuit approximation for a solid state diode?
Can someone draw this out for me?
Symbol for a diode is ----|>|----
One approximation is to use a voltage source of 0.65V or so when forward biased, and open circuit when reverse biased. The Shockley equation gives a quite reasonable performance model.
