The Diodes

The Diodes

$93.99

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Diodes were a Canadian punk/new wave band formed in 1976. They released five albums: Diodes (1977), Released (1979), ActionReaction (1980), Survivors (1982), and Time/Damage Live 1978 (2010). One of the first Toronto bands playing that style of music, The Diodes helped foster the scene in the city. Along with manager Ralph Alfonso, The Diodes opened the first Canadian punk nightclub in 1977, called Crash n Burn, where many of the citys punk bands at that time played. The first band to play the club was The Nerves, on a double bill with The Diodes. The club was closed at the end of the summer of 1977 due to complaints by the Liberal Party of Ontario (the principal tenants of the building). This book basically gives the over view about The properties of erbiumdoped fiber amplifier (EDFA) such as gain and noise figure have been studied. By determining the characteristics of the 980nm, 1480nm 1550nm laser sources and ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) at the output of the amplifier used to determine the gain and noise figure of EDFA. This model allows to follow the signal (1550nm), pump (980nm) and ASE as they propagate along the fiber and determine population inversion .The both forward and backward propagation ASE are important in determining the overall gain and noise figure. For the amplification of more than 80 channels the DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) has required CBand (15251565)nm and LBand (15651610)nm EDFA.We show that a flat gain spectrum can be achieved in the range from 1565 to 1610 nm when the EDF length, pump power and pump configuration are appropriately chosen. Special care must be taken when selecting the EDF length. Organic LightEmitting Diodes

Organic LightEmitting Diodes

$113.11

Organic lightemitting diode (OLED) technology is used in a variety of display applications, ranging from cell phones and MP3 to prototype TVs, and holds great promise for the production of highly efficient largearea light sources and flat panel displays. It has the potential to become a multibilliondollar industry within a few years. The biggest technical challenge for OLEDs is the limited lifetime associated with elevated temperatures and exposure to moisture. The guaranteed hours of operation (15,000 hr) is currently inadequate for most TVs and replacement of LCDs with the 60,000 hr halflife. This book, therefore, investigated the thermalactivated and moistureinduced degradation pathways of small molecule based prototype OLEDs as well as interfacial electronic properties at the nanoscale level through realtime visualization. The results should help shed some lights on improving luminescence efficiency and lifetime of OLEDs, and should be especially useful to professionals in research and development of not only OLED technology but other organic electronics, or anyone else who may be interested in plastic electronics. Green Laser Pointer II

Green Laser Pointer II

$69.99

Okay, just about everyone has a red laser pointer. Heck, we even sell a fine one here at ThinkGeek. But, we're pretty sure you want to be a superior geek - and doing it with a green laser is the way to go. This pointer is significantly brighter (about 50 times) than a red laser pointer and because of its unusual color it is much more noticeable. I mean come on, a 532 nm green laser wavelength is obviously superior to a laughable 650 nm red laser wavelength. And unlike a red laser, the green beam itself can be seen in mid-air in dark conditions, not just the laser beam dot. This allows the green laser pointer to be used for pointing to star constellations (skypointing) and also just generally look cool as hell. The green laser beam dot can be seen at much greater distances than with a red laser pointer. Since green direct injection laser diodes aren't readily available, this pointer is based on the use of Diode Pumped Solid State Frequency Doubled (DPSSFD) laser technology. A high power IR laser diode at 808 nm pumps a tiny block of Nd:YVO4 generating light at 1,064 nm which feeds a KTP intracavity frequency doubler crystal to produce the green beam at 532 nm. Features of this unit include: Very bright green laser at 532 nm wavelength Output power of Range of approximately 9,000 ft (2600 m) in darkness 1.1 mm beam diameter at source Momentary push button switch Solid, heavy duty construction Constant wave output (as opposed to pulse output) Takes 2 "AAA" batteries (not included) Can be used for skypointing, projection on low clouds, signaling, highlighting potential explosives Dimensions: 5.6" x .5" dia 90-day warranty Available in Black or Silver color Interested in quantity discounts or custom logo imprinting? More info here. Warning: Green lasers are very powerful. Pointing at aircraft may land you in jail. Without a Monopoly card to get you back out. Use it wisely.

Polymer Light Emitting Diodes Based on Polyfluorenes

Polymer Light Emitting Diodes Based on Polyfluorenes

$138.61

This work is devoted to the study on Polymer Light Emitting Diodes (PLEDs) based on polyfluorenes, a promising class of semiconductive polymers for lightemitting diode applications. It covers theories of PLEDs, literature overview of polyfluorenebased lightemitting diodes, as well as research results by the authors. In this study, several types of PLED devices based on neat polyfluorenes or polyfluorene blends were designed, fabricated, and characterized. The electrical characteristics of two neat polyfluorenes were simulated via using space charge limited current theory for the holeonly case and/or exploiting a commercial software package. Nine Important Features of Fellowes Paper Cutters and Trimmers

If you are searching for the right paper cutter or trimmer for your home or office, you might have found that there are a surprising number of features to consider for such a seemingly simple tool. However, if you are looking to take your business to the next level, you know that producing your own documents such as reports, presentations, and proposals can give you the control and flexibility that you need. Paper cutters and trimmers are a big part of the document-production process, and Fellowes makes some of the best on the market. In this article, we will discuss and explain some of the features you might want to look for when choosing a Fellowes cutter or trimmer.

  1. Paper Clamp: a paper clamp holds paper in place in order to ensure a precise cut over the whole stack of paper. This often-overlooked feature is great for cutting bigger stacks of paper with ten sheets or more. The clamp will help to keep your paper from shifting during the cutting process.
  2. Permanent Alignment Grid: This is simple grid on the cutting base that helps you make sure that the paper or stack of paper you are cutting is properly aligned inside the trimmer. The alignment grid on the cutter will help you to cut your documents to specific measurements and can even help when cutting angles.
  3. Adjustable Back Edge Guide: Holds the paper in place, ensuring fast and precise repeat cutting.
  4. SafeCut LED: Generally considered to be safer to the eyes than some of the laser systems that are out there. Certain Fellowes paper cutting systems offer an LED (light emitting diode) to safely and precisely indicate the cutting line.
  5. Designer Blades: A great way for you to get a little creative with your trimming, Fellowes' designer blades allow you to add a custom wavy pattern to the cut edge of your page. Specialty blades are also available for both perforating and scoring applications.
  6. SafeCut: The Fellowes Safe Cut system ensures that users can exchange cutting elements and cartridges without ever having to touch the blade. The guard also prevents any sort of accidental blade exposure during trimming.
  7. Automatic Blade Locking System: This is another very important safety feature that ensures that the cutting blade is never exposed when the trimming machine is not in use, so you don't have to worry about accidental contact with the blade. This feature is important to look for when choosing a guillotine paper cutter.
  8. Cutting Length: Most of the Fellowes cutting and trimming machines are available in more than one cutting length. Cutters and trimmers are available with cutting lengths of 12 inches, 15 inches or 18 inches. It is important that you choose a paper cutter with a cutting length or blade length that is equal to or longer than the largest sheet that you will need to cut.
  9. Cutting Ability: Depending on the Fellowes machine you choose, you will have the ability to cut a wide variety of material thickness from paper to foam board. It is always a good idea to consider the types of materials that you will need to cut before choosing a cutter or trimmer.

As you can see, there are many features to consider when you are shopping for a paper trimmer or cutter. These nine features should give you a good starting place in your search for the cutter that will be right for your needs. Take your time, compare the models and choose a machine that you can count on to do the job right.
