why diodes and bipolar junction transistor are form using semiconductor?
because you need to use a material which has a band GAP SUITABLE for the purpose. conductors have no band gap and so have too many free carriers - they cannot provide diode or transitor action. insulators have a band gap that is too large for a reasonable applied electric field to liberate enough free carriers to make the device work. Semiconductors are 'just right' (Think of it like the beds in goldilocks and the three bears!)

Chaotic Semiconductor Lasers: A Dynamical Analysis $165.69 Chaotic semiconductor laser diodes can be used to precipitate secure communications schemes via synchronisation of two such lasers. This book begins by extending the bifurcation analysis of Dubbeldam and Krauskopf to dimensionless equations derived from the Yamada model with terms representative of spontaneous emission and diffusion effects included. We show that the bifurcation diagram changes dramatically at a certain diffusion level, but that the region of selfpulsation is still delineated by the Hopf bifurcation curve. Other models which include recombination effects are also considered. The excitable region of the parameter space of the dimensionless equations derived from the Yamada model with diffusion effects neglected is considered, and approximations of the excitability threshold are derived. Finally, chaotic behaviour arising from sinusoidal modulation of the pump current is analysed. Lyapunov exponent calculations are supplemented with a return map analysis in order to distinguish between periodic motion and chaos as the modulation depth and frequency are varied. Semi conductors are not use in resistors. there are use in active devices like diodes , transistor and ics. because of their properties. the name semi conductors implies conduct in one direction and not in the other. basically thats whats its about. if you want more details get an intro electronics book or a physics book.
