LED Lighting – Helps Save Power!

Generally, LED’s, or light-emitting diodes, produce more light per watt than incandescent bulbs. These bulbs also last 15 times longer than ordinary bulbs. They also consume less energy. LED’s are based on the semiconductor diode. When the diode is switched on, electrons recombine with holes and energy is released in the form of light. Usually, the LED is small in area (less than 1 mm2) with integrated optical components to shape its radiation pattern. This assists in reflection.
