Infrared Cameras - Keeping You Safe In The Nighttime

Standard security cameras usually feature 'night vision'. This is a system that uses an integrated infrared illuminator. Instead it registers radiation from another region of the electromagnetic spectrum - body heat. They work because objects of different temperatures emit different levels of infrared energy. The sensors in infrared cameras pick up these energy differences and convert them electronically into images which can be viewed and recorded.

This ability to measure heat means that these cameras can have a host of other applications in industries in which heat levels are critical. They can function as highly sophisticated heat sensors and monitoring systems. For example, they can keep an eye on the temperature of a liquid passing through a pipe.

One of the most popular applications for spy cameras is for wildlife photography. One of the pleasures of being a wildlife buff is being able to photograph your favourite fauna in their natural habitat.
