Okay, just about everyone has a red laser pointer. Heck, we even sell a fine one here at ThinkGeek. But, we're pretty sure you want to be a superior geek - and doing it with a green laser is the way to go. This pointer is significantly brighter (about 50 times) than a red laser pointer and because of its unusual color it is much more noticeable. I mean come on, a 532 nm green laser wavelength is obviously superior to a laughable 650 nm red laser wavelength. And unlike a red laser, the green beam itself can be seen in mid-air in dark conditions, not just the laser beam dot. Rosacea Laser Treatment Method
Rosacea laser treatment method includes high power light beam for curing the affected blood vessels. The light beam is focused directly on the damaged blood cells for efficient flushing. The technique has been approved by United States Food and Drug Administration and is one of the best treatment methods available nowadays. The treatment may include more than one two-three rounds of exposure, but with each round the effects of disease start declining. The cost per visit varies across places and one may have to shell as high as $500 for a single treatment session.
Pulsed Dye Laser is one of the most common techniques used and has shown nearly 80% success rate in removal of redness and flushing of blood vessels. In addition KTP , Diode and Nd:YAG lasers have also been developed in the recent times. However, they use a very intense and powerful beam which can lead to skin thickening and swelling so CO2 is used to remove the skin thickening. Results have shown a 40-60% reduction in the skin redness, burning, itching and dryness in just 2-3 rounds of laser exposure. However, the permanent effects of the treatment technique are only visible after a period of 4-5 months.
The method uses strong beam which can cause serious damage to the skin cells. It may cause temporary swelling on the face and the process can be uncomfortable at times. In severe cases, it can also cause the mutation of cells ultimately leading to the creation of cancerous cells. A new class of light treatment methods called Intense Pulsed light (IPL) is also used by some doctors and uses high density beam from a light source which is less dangerous. However, it require 5-7 rounds, but with the reduced harmful effects it can be beneficial against laser treatment methods for Rosacea.
