Rectifier Diodes
Do I really need a rectifier diode to power an LED with A/C?
I'm trying to make a electronics test box and the Linrose LED's I have warn that they need a rectifier diode if using AC. I'm only using 15V AC and I have another box powering LED's using 24VAC with no rectifier diode and they work fine. I guess I'm trying to figure out if this warning is that critical.
if you use back to back LEDs then the piv will not be exceeded, and you do need to put in a series current limiting resistor whose resistance depends on how many LED pairs you want to use.

They released five albums: Diodes (1977), Released (1979), ActionReaction (1980), Survivors (1982), and Time/Damage Live 1978 (2010). One of the first Toronto bands playing that style of music, The Diodes helped foster the scene in the city. Along with manager Ralph Alfonso, The Diodes opened the first Canadian punk nightclub in 1977, called Crash n Burn, where many of the citys punk bands at that time played.
