Polarized Cost

Is the new Canon TS-E 24mm worth twice the price?
The old lens is half the cost! If I add a high end polarizing filter, won't that mitigate some of the chromatic aberrations on the older lens?
Not for you unless you are getting a full frame d/SLR as it works like a 38 mm lens--hardly wide enough for that sort of money.
I think you would do better with perspective correction with Photoshop CS 3 / 4.

Field Test, Part 1: OEC (brand) Circular Polarizing Filter
what are the best polarized sunglasses for fishing at a reasonable price. ones that really cut thru the water?
i used a pair once that allowed you to see straight thru the water down to 30 feet or more, they were a amazing. i have not seen a pair since like them. any ideas that wont cost an arm and a leg
Ok my answer will make some people mad probally but I don't care I answer from experience. First off if you are looking for a cheap pair that do a good job Renegade and strikeking are good. However the polarization will fade and peel off after a while. They are both under $15.
If you are a little more serious about a good pair of glasses here are a few good brands. Costa del mar- They make great glasses and lenses, if you break them they replace them for $50 to $75 depending on lens type. I own a pair w/ mirror blue glass lenses and use them in bright conditions. Guide line makes great fishing glasses, I have fishing buddies that own them and love em. I also own a pair of Hobies w/ amber lenses. They get more use than any. For around $60 they are great glasses. Lens color is important when fishing or being on the water. If you are Offshore in deeper water and bright conditions you will be better off with a Mirror blue or green lens. If you are in shallow water flats sightfishing and in lower light conditions then amber lenses will work better. I spend most of my time sight fishing for Redfish in less than 2' of water so I have to have a great pair of glasses. It's all about what suits you the best. You get what you pay for. People can say you're paying for a name or whatever but when you have money on the line you want the best, and after you have worn a good pair you see the difference
