The 100k is a return path for the DC bias on the Varicaps.
I would add a RFC between the common point of the two varicaps to the junction of R7/R8, replacing the direct connection, plus a bypass from the latter point to ground, to decouple the audio and the RF. PS, C8 needs to be a non-polarized cap. It's value can be reduced a lot. For a 1 kHz signal, 1µF is fine, or even 0.1µF with some loss of audio amplitude. If you want wide band audio to 100 Hz, then you do need about 20µF non polarized.
