The optical drive bay, in my acer notebook, ejects automatically, even without pushing the eject button.

The optical drive bay, in my acer notebook, ejects automatically, even without pushing the eject button. Plz help, how to counter this problem. I can't mount any cd or Dvds on it.

A few things could cause this:
- bad drive
- dirt somewhere in the drive
- drive cables not seated properly
- virus or malware program

First, try some canned air to clean it out.
You may need to open the case to do this. If so, re-seat both ends of the cables coming into and out of the drive.
If these 2 steps don't work, assume your computer is infected and run a thorough cleaning protocol.

If none of the above works, replace your drive. Check reliable places like buy.com or tigerdirect.com for new drives at reasonable prices.

Will Digital Optical Cable work on a wall mounted LCD with small space between wall?

I just bought a TV, which has the Digital Optical Audio Output. This LCD is wall mounted so there is maybe 2 inches to the wall. I want to output digital sound from the tv to a receiver I have. The tv als has rca audio out, but since all my components are HD, I thought the digital would work better. My question is since its an optical audio cable I've read it can't be bent, or it won't work because light can't bend. The cable would bend obviously because the tv is really close to the wall. Does this bend cause the cable not to transmit anything, or it will sound of less quality, what should I do? thanks

Yes of course there is enogh space to attach the optical cable.
