Optical Crystal

Questions for those of you who have scryed in a crystal ball, water, black mirror, etc..?
So I am new to scrying, and am looking to buy a crystal ball online. Is a fused quartz or optical grade quartz ball good for scrying? What's the best type of crystal ball?
Also, what images have you seen when scrying? What do you use? And how long did it take you to finally see images in the mirror/ball?
My friend uses her belly.

Optical Networks, 3rd Edition $92.95 The third edition of Optical Networks continues to be the authoritative source for information on optical networking technologies and techniques. Componentry and transmission are discussed in detail with emphasis on practical networking issues that affect organizations as they evaluate, deploy, or develop optical networks. New updates in this rapidly changing technology are introduced. These updates include sections on pluggable optical transceivers, ROADM (reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer), and electronic dispersion compensation. Current standards updates such as G.709 OTN, as well as, those for GPON, EPON, and BPON are featured. Expanded discussions on multimode fiber with additional sections on photonic crystal and plastic fibers, as well as expanded coverage of Ethernet and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS). This book clearly explains all the hard-to-find information on architecture, control and management. It serves as your guide at every step of optical networking-- from planning to implementation through ongoing maintenance. This book is your key to thoroughly understanding practical optical networks. In-depth coverage of optimization, design, and management of the components and transmission of optical networks. Filled with examples, figures, and problem sets to aid in development of dependable, speedy networks. Focuses on practical, networking-specific issues: everything you need to know to implement currently available optical solutions. |

Optical Pattern Recognition $92.4 This book provides a comprehensive review of optical pattern recognition, covering theoretical aspects as well as details of practical implementations and signal processing techniques. The first chapter is devoted to pattern recognition performed with optical correlators. Later chapters discuss new approaches based on neural networks, wavelet transforms, and the fractional Fourier transform. The book also covers nonlinear filter methods and opticalelectronic hybrid systems. The final part deals with the devices and materials employed in modern systems, such as photorefractive crystals, microlasers, and liquid crystal spatial light modulators. The volume gives many examples of working systems that integrate optics, electronics, and computers, and it covers a range of new developments from mathematical theories to novel optical materials. It will be of great interest to graduate students and researchers in optical engineering and machine vision. Author: Yu, Francis T. S./ Jutamulia, Suganda/ Francis T. Optical and Electronic Properties of Diamondoids $205.52 Quantum confinement in lowdimensional semiconductor nanostructures enables materials with tuneable electronic and optical properties. This book discusses threedimensionally confined structures in diamond, a material with remarkable physical attributes. Data for a series of size and shapeselected, hydrogenpassivated nanodiamonds (diamondoids) are presented. Diamondoids consist of facefused cages that are perfectly sp hybridized and thus directly superimposable on the bulk diamond crystal lattice. The present gas phase experiments provide benchmark data as they were obtained under boundary conditions similar to those assumed in typical theoretical investigations. They show that characteristic optical properties for diamond nanowire, sheet, and crystal evolve already in the subnm size regime. Most notably, a striking similarity in optical response between a tetrahedral diamondoid and the bulk material is found. Further, diamondoids have been found to luminesce in the UV, making them prospective candidates for optoelectronic applications. Besides their fundamental interest, the current findings disclose considerable technological potential of these new nanocarbon materials. Optical Characterization of Novel Pdlc Systems $114.71 The objective of this research was to prepare PDLCs systems with improved liquid crystal/polymer composition for thermo and electrooptical performance. Two thermosetting matrices based on an unsaturated polyester resin and a bifunctional epoxy resin, respectively, are employed to realise PDLCs. At a second step, different dopants are used in order to prepare dyedoped PDLC (DPDLCs) epoxy based films. The dyes contribute to an increase in light absorption, thus reducing remarkably the power necessary to induce nonlinear optical effects. A complete optical, thermooptical and electrooptical characterisation, a morphological study, and finally an analysis of some nonlinear optical effects in these materials is performed. A comparison of the optical properties between DPDLCs and undoped PDLCs is presented. Linear and nonlinear effects occurring in these materials, such as selftransparency, thermally induced optical bistability and optically induced light modulation, are studied. This work confirms that PDLCs with optimised optical properties can be considered for the design of a range of different important optical devices. Freeman vs Liqud Metal - Optical Crystal (Matsuri 98)
regarding simulation of a crystal lattice using electrical analogue?
hey folks i'm stuck up with this experiment of simulating a crystal lattice using an electrical analogue-an electrical transmission line consisting of an array of L-C filters.kindly explain in the folllowing contexts:-
1]how does a low pass filter simulate a monoatomic lattice and a band pass does a diatomic lattice
2]explain the frequency response of the above two kinds of filters and correlate it to the concept of conjugate mass and reduced as obatined in expressions of dispersion relation for acoustical and optical branches
Check out the paper at the source below. This should answer all your questions.
