Optical Assembly Can anyone tell me what this "Job description" mean ?
What does this job description mean?
ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN
•Read and interpreted mechanical, optical, and electric specifications
•Achieved exceptional accuracy with using multi-meters, digital oscilloscopes, DVM and function generators
•Generated test reports in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
can you tell me the daily routine of an employee who's doing this kind of a work because I want to know if I would like to do it. I am assuming he stands on an assembly line waiting for different electronic components to arrive ?.. am I right??
What does he do . Does he have electronic products/components coming up to him on a hourly basis , every day and he has to check the Input voltages/Output voltages etc ?
Is there a list on a paper that will describe which components to check every day ? How does it work ?
It really depends on what the job is exactly. My dad was an electronics technician at one company, and he essentially assembled and installed the electronics for the machines they were producing himself... not on a line. He was also required to make in-person service calls to companies that had purchased the product, and do repairs on machines that were shipped back.
At his current job, he does repairs only... no service calls or builds.
A technician usually isn't on an assembly line. A technician is usually someone who actually knows what they're doing. You don't really have to know much about the product on an assembly line... you just do repetative tasks. As a technician you would have to be able to diagnose and repair problems with the electrical component.
