Optic Test I was told I have monoclonal gammapathy about 3 years ago. What can I expect?
53 year old male. Had optic neuritis when I had the blood tests done. Optic nueritis cleared in about 4 weeks-no return.
There is no way to predict your disease course. This condition is called "monoclonal gammopathy of uncertain significance," or MGUS, thus some people go on to live normal, healthy lives, and some people will develop multiple myeloma, which is a type of blood cell cancer. My grandmother has had an MGUS for about 7 years and it hasn't progressed. I hope yours is the same! Good luck.

Am I MS free since I passed the eye tests don't have optic neuritis?
Nothing found in the eye tests and had a field visual test too. (I did get the blackening out in my right eye w/ flashes, (a few different times.) Had the numb dragging left leg when I was walking w/ a friend, couple years ago. Still have the severe pains with electric shocks in the arms and legs. Sometimes so bad I want to go back to the hospital. Diagnosed with Myalgia and Neuropothy. Taking Neurontin but not working. So tired, fatigue. Having MRI today. Thank you for your help.
I have had MS for many years and have never had any signs of O.N. It's true that O.N can be an early symptom but not always .
