Optic High Fiber optic: Would like to ask if it is possible to put fiber optic cable in conduit beside a 34.5 kV line?
We are installing a high Volgage 34.5kV line underground with a communication line with a distance. Is it possible to put the communication line a fiber optic beside a 34.5kV line underground side by side but seperate conduit communication and power seperately?
If it's legal to put the 34.5 KV line underground, the fiber optic cable should not be affected. EM energy (from the electrical cable) should have no effect on the optical (light) cable.

Is fiber optic cable the same is high definition?
Our local cable spent a lot of money making the system fiber optic, but I don't know if it is worth the trouble to get a HD tv set. Would a hd set improve this type of cable?
fiber simply carries the HDTV signal. You would have to subscribe to a programing package including HD service to service the best benefit.
With products like FIOS the channels are all digital so the picture on a HDTV would look better than the analog version that many cable providers still use due to capacity issues.
