What are some common nonlinear optical materials and what are their applications?


I just need some information on the above question.

Don't know if you consider lithium iodate as a common material, but it and others, along with their applications, are listed at the Nonlinear Optics wikipedia site (found quickly by google). The applications, while maybe exciting to an optical scientist, would not get included in a typical conversation.
