Does the D80 have a built-in metering system?

I'm asking this because the kit lens on it broke and I'd like to get a new lens. The old primes are quite a bit cheaper than the newly designed ones on ebay, and as long as I have a metering system with the lens I have no problem with focusing manually.

According to the D80's manual:

"The non-CPU lenses listed below may be used, but only when the camera is in mode M. Selecting another mode disables the shutter release. Aperture must be adjusted manually via the lens aperture ring and the camera autofocus system, metering, electronic analog exposure display, and TTL flash control can not be used."

So no, there isn't going to be any kind of metering system if you buy one of thier 'older', non-CPU lenses.

Next time read your manual.

what is the amount of water needed to make a 12 meter negative edge swimming pool system operate?

i have just built a 12mtr long by 2.5 mtr wide by .8 mtr deep pool with a disappearing edge on one of the long sides. we have a problem with the water going over the edge. I think that there may be 2 issues actually. 1. The edge is not exactly level. 2. we may not have enough water volume. 3. the water may not be returning fast enough into the pool. ie: the pump is too small. How can i determine the problem?

A waterfall or a negative edge has to be perfectly level to give that even look across its span. Since it's probably not possible to reconstruct the edge, try a larger-capacity pump--and go high. To determine volume, multiply your three measurements together, then go online (I'm sorry I don't know for sure) and find out how much water is in a cubic meter. That will determine your volume. If you have a half-inch slope across the length of the edge, effectively you have to be pumping in one-half inch of vertical height for every half-inch draining. Does that make sense?
