Low Forward Voltage Diode
lowest forward voltage diode out there!?
Hi,
I need a diode with the lowest possible forward voltage (Vf, diode drop, etc)...
I saw that mouser has this one available: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/NXP/BAS45AL115/?qs=me8TqzrmIYUNz2TYp%2F87pA%3D%3D
Mouser says that it has an incredible 80mV diode drop, BUT BUT BUT...the data sheet that mouser provides (link to the right of the picture of the diode on the above website) doesn't show an 80mV drop, but much higher...I understand this may be a max rating, but...
I still need the lowest diode drop possible! (For use of clamping input signals to chips that can't have input higher than 0.2V above their Vcc)
PLEASE HELP ME!!! 
I know that diode drops range from 0.2-0.3V for germanium, but 0.2V (estimated) for a germanium diode won't work in my application. I need to know for a fact that the diode drop is 0.2V or lower. Thanks!!!
I haven't looked at that link but a Vf of 80mW is not exceptionally low for a Schottky diode. They work via a different mechanism to regular PN junction diodes. I'd presume that is what the component you are looking at is.
