whitening your teeth while pregnant?
i have brought a tooth whitening kit which contains the gel gum shield type things and a laser light. after getting home and reading the instructions it says not reccomended for pregnant women....why is thins as it has no explanation as to why...seems there is nothing a pregnant woman can do lol....are they just saying this to cover there own backs or is there an actual reason as to why. obviously i do not want to put my baby at risk if there is a logical explanation..would be gratefull for any serious answers thanks
My doctor gave me a list of no-no's and teeth whitening was on them. The reason is that the gums are very absorbent and whiteners are a harsh chemical. Gums are so absorbent that you can put maple syrup on the gums of a diabetic who has passed out and the sugar will get into their blood stream and revive them. So those chemicals will do the same.
