Organic Light Emitting Diodes (Hardcover) $385.4 Addressing the development of the organic light emitting diode (OLED) based on rare-earth and transition-metal complexes—Europium, Terbium, Ruthenium, and Rhenium—this unique perspective explains how these materials can be used to build organic-LEDs, from chemistry synthesis to device operation and the related charge transfer and confinement. Examining how organic materials can be used to build organic-LEDs, the relationship between the chemistry molecule "design," and state-of-the-art and expected pathways, this intelligent report provides intensive experimental results for scientists and engineers working in this new OLED framework, while maintaining a didactic utility for graduation students and teachers studying optoelectronics. |

Light-Emitting Diodes (Hardcover) $186.1 Revised and fully up-dated, the second edition of this graduate textbook offers a comprehensive explanation of the technology and physics of LEDs such as infrared, visible-spectrum, ultraviolet, and white LEDs made from III-V semiconductors. Elementary properties such as electrical and optical characteristics are reviewed, followed by the analysis of advanced device structures. With nine additional chapters, the treatment of LEDs has been vastly expanded, including new material on device packaging, reflectors, UV LEDs, III-V nitride materials, solid-state sources for illumination applications, and junction temperature. Radiative and non-radiative recombination dynamics, methods for improving light extraction, high-efficiency and high-power device designs, white-light emitters with wavelength-converting phosphor materials, optical reflectors, and spontaneous recombination in resonant-cavity structures are discussed in detail. With exercises, solutions, and illustrative examples, this textbook will be of interest to scientists and engineers working on LEDs and graduate students in electrical engineering, applied physics, and materials science. |

Polymer Light Emitting Diodes Based on Polyfluorenes $138.61 This work is devoted to the study on Polymer Light Emitting Diodes (PLEDs) based on polyfluorenes, a promising class of semiconductive polymers for lightemitting diode applications. It covers theories of PLEDs, literature overview of polyfluorenebased lightemitting diodes, as well as research results by the authors. In this study, several types of PLED devices based on neat polyfluorenes or polyfluorene blends were designed, fabricated, and characterized. The electrical characteristics of two neat polyfluorenes were simulated via using space charge limited current theory for the holeonly case and/or exploiting a commercial software package. Light Emitting Silicon for Microphotonics $380.76 A fascinating insight into the stateoftheart in silicon microphotonics and on what we can expect in the near future. The book presents an overview of the current understanding of getting light from silicon. It concentrates mainly on low dimensional silicon structures, like quantum dots, wires and wells, but covers also alternative approaches like porous silicon and the doping of silicon with rareearths. The emphasis is on the experimental and theoretical achievements concerning the optoelectronic properties of confined silicon structures obtained during recent years. Silicon based photonic crystals are in particular considered. An in depth discussion of the route towards a silicon laser is presented. Author: Ossicini, Stephano/ Ossicini, S./ Pavesi, L. CarbazoleBased Emitting Compounds $141.79 Carbazole is a heterocyclic tricyclic aromatic organic compound consisting of two sixmembered benzene rings fused on either side of a fivemembered nitrogencontaining ring. A large number of carbazole derivatives have been designed and synthesized and organic electronic devices based on these derivatives such as organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), have been investigated. The optical and electrical properties of carbazoles are affected by substitution on the 2, 3, 6, 7 and 9Hpositions. Many carbazole derivatives have sufficiently high triplet energy to make them an efficient host where they can serve as red, green, or blue triplet emitters. Highly fluorescent and stable carbazolebased compounds were synthesized and characterized. Substitution of carbazoles at 3 and 6 position by tertbutyl group enhanced the solubility. Suitably susbtituted carbazoles form highly stable fluorescent organic nanoparticles. The emission of these nanoparticles was reversibly switched on/off in the bluegreen and orangered regions from a change in the ratio of the tetrahydrofuran/water system used in their preparation. Lights on the spokes for bicycle safety
Tail Lights
Tail light is a special kind of lamp that is usually mounted at the rear side of the car. It works as an indicator and indicates the other drivers about brake, left or right turn. Tail light is basically a group of lights that composes of brake lights, indicator lights and reverse lights, which are used for different functionalities. The composition of tail lights is given below:
INDICATORS:
In tail lights, lights have different colors like turning indicator lights have yellow color and these indicators are used to indicate whether the driver is turning left or right. These same indicating lights are also used as emergency indication if the driver applies emergency brakes.
REVERSE LIGHTS:
Reverse lights are also a part of Tail lights assembly because it comes with the tail lights set. These reverse lights are automatic and turns on when drives shift his car into reverse gear. These reverse lights have high luminosity and brightness then the other tail light components but they are not as bright as the front headlight.
BRAKE LIGHTS:
Another part of tail lights are Stop Lamps which are also known as brake lights. Red Braking lights only turns on when the driver of the car applies brake on the vehicle. It is usually located at the both edges of the car and it glows with a luminosity of 65 to 300 candelas. This light also acts as signals for the other driver at night time.
This is the composition of headlights. Now let us discuss the
OEM TAIL LIGHTS:
The full form of OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer. These Car Tail Lights are company fitted and are fixed at the rear end of your car. These lights could either be colored matched with your car or could be stock. Therefore, the color doesn’t affect the working of tail lights but it gives the same look. OEM tail lights are more valuable for those who are fond of original parts. These lights are very simple and maintain the original price of car.
AFTERMARKET TAIL LIGHTS:
Aftermarket lights are those types of tail lights which are sold after the making of a car. These aftermarket tail lights are also called as Euro lights. It is like a substitute of OEM tail lights. It provide custom and sporty look to the car. Aftermarket tail lights are well made and give graceful look to the car. Although these lights are cheap as compare to the fashionable LED lights so those who wants to modify there cars in cheap uses these aftermarket tail lights.
LED TAIL LIGHTS:
LED means Light Emitting Diodes and is nowadays replacing the stock tail lights. Actually LED tail lights are not only used as tail lights but they also used as day time running light. These LED lights are of very costly and only used by high end cars like Lamborghini Murcielago, Austin Martin DB-9, Mazda RX-7 and others, because they offer them a package of Ray Headlights. The main advantage of LED tail lights is their illumination speed when compared to other tail lights. LED tail lights are very expensive but they give a sporty look to the car. These lights are available in all colors; consume less power and turns on instantaneously.
Nowadays, the car buyer uses tail lights to modify their car and there is a very fast growing trend to upgrade car with fashionable tail lights. Before buying these, it’s advisable that one should do thorough research on the type of tail lights available in the market.
