Light Diode Lamp
About LED [light-emitting diode] and candles?
Which gives more light, because I just recently bought a lamp and I really don't know if it is brighter than the other one I didn't buy. One lights 1,000,000 candles, the other one 1,000,000 LED.
Which one is better? [in lighting]
We only compair the light emitting efficiency for same amount of power that it consumes. Your question is unjustified. LED has 99% of light efficiency,other 1% power turns into useless heat. Whereas an ordinary light bulb that build with filament has 15 to 25% of light efficiency,other 85 to 75% power turn into useless heat.
Therefore,using same amount of power,LED shall give more light than a lamp.

LED Traffic Lights
Do LED (light emitting diode) lights give off UV rays?
My mother suffers from a disease that makes her very sensitive to UV rays. She cannot be in sunlight for very long without getting ill, and florescent do the same. She got a very nice LED house lamp for Christmas, but is afraid to use it. I thought LED did not give off UV rays, but have no proof. The box says "full spectrum light". Any answers?
"Full-spectrum" LEDs are actually combined Red, Green, and Blue LEDs, simulating full-spectrum to the human eye. They still emit a relatively narrow band of 430-670nm, outside the UV range (4 - 400nm). They should be fine for your mother.
