Lens Holder Can I get chlamydia back from using my monthly contact lens still (after being cured)?
I just took anti-biotic to rid of chlamydia, it should be gone in at the most 10 days. I have monthly contact lens, and since chlamydia can be passed through eye contact (what I've read) would it be possible to still carry back the STD from it? If so, should I change the lens holder as well?

How do you attach filters to a Canon EOS SLR?
Yes this question probably seems moronic to you and I'm guessing I just buy the filter and it simply screws on to my lens but I'm new at photography and want to be sure.
Also, when you buy a filter, do you get the holder as well as the filter itself or do you buy a "holder"? Again, probably a really dumb question but I don't know.

Somewhere on your lens there will be something like 58mm Ø, the Ø symbol just means diameter. Any filter you buy for that lens will need to be this size.
There are Lee and Cokin systems that use a plastic filter holder so all you need is an adapter for all the different sizes to fit your lenses.

Effects are best done in Photoshop, but a Circular Polariser and graduated grey filters can help to hold back a bright sky. Neutral Density filters are handy if you want to reduce the amount of light getting to the sensor, to give a slow shutter speed for water movement for instance.
I don't advocate using a filter for 'protection' the only time mechanical damage ruined a lens of mine was when the thin 'protection' filter shattered and scratched the lens coating. A good lens hood offers much more protection without the optical quality of the lens being impaired as all but the most expensive coated filters do.
There may be some argument for them in sand dunes with wind blown sand, but I have never had any problem in over 40 years even though my cameras have been down coal mines and in steel works many times.
