I'm installing a dye laser,and want to use my own N2 laser to pump it? Problem is how to proceed to construct this N2 laser that could be used for the intended purpose.I'am looking for a friend who can give me clues.
I hope that you have some experience with lasers. Be very careful with your dye laser, some of the organic materials used in dye lasers can be toxic. Make sure you wear the proper eye protection when working around lasers!

When you pump a laser to excite the electrons, does the source of light have to be a strobe, or can it be a consistent source?
the excitation pulse for a laser can be both continuous and pulsed. it depends on the requirement. if you want more power per pulse, then pulsed one is prefered. but the out pulse will be dependent on the input pulse.
but if you can work with lower power then you can take a continuous pulse also.
for time resolved studies pulsed one is prefered where as for spectral studies continuous one is prefered
