Laser Protection Are LASERs Classified As Firearms or Weapons or Are They Just LASERs?
I want to carry my laser around just for my protection (but as last resort because it WILL set your clothes on fire within seconds, or burn your eyes out within a fraction of a seconds).
My Laser is around 350 mW (mili Watts not Mega Watts) it can easily set things on fire form 0-25 feet away. I want to know whether I need some sort of permit or can I just carry this thing around.
PS: LASER stands for Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation
so I'm not sure whether simulated light radiation is considered a projectile or not, if it is then it is probably a firearm.

Lasers aren't classified as firearms (yet), but, if you use it as a weapon, then it's a weapon. If there's any potential for the death of the person you use it on, then it's a deadly weapon. (A shod foot has been ruled to be a deadly weapon in some cases. So have BB guns.)
