Laser Driver Diode

How much current can 4 AA batteries output?
I'm thinking about building a strong laser which needs about 1 Amp current.
If I use this:

And then to the laser diode (which uses 4.5V at 1A btw.)
Will that work? Will the 4 AA batteries provide enough current for the driver to output 1 A?
4 alkaline batteries would be able give you just a bit under 6 volts for a little bit over an hour when loaded with a device that draws a 1 amp current. They are better suited for lower currents.
1 amp is considered to be "high drain" for a battery of that size. You might consider a good set of rechargable NiMH batteries instead since they will give you a runtime that is twice as long and can then be recharged. 4 of them will give you 5 volts.

By determining the characteristics of the 980nm, 1480nm 1550nm laser sources and ASE (amplified spontaneous emission) at the output of the amplifier used to determine the gain and noise figure of EDFA. Simulation of Ingan Blue Laser Diode $172.06 In this book, the design of InGaN LDs structures including multi quantum wells (MQWs) active region device are described and investigated by integrated system engineering technology computer aided design (ISE TCAD) device simulator. The parameters of the LDs structures are varied and optimized for high performance.
