Laser Dot Does a red dot sight actually have a laser in it?
I recently bought a Norica Goliath 88 air rifle which comes with a red dot. I am wondering if the internal components of this device actually has a laser. They say that lasers are bad for your vision so I wouldn't want to be using this red dot if its source is a laser.
Some red dot sights do have a laser in them, but most do not. Those that do use the laser to project a dot or reticle onto a lens you look through to aim. Other red dots have a red tube inside the scope that you see when you aim.

S&W sigma 9mm red dot laser??
I recently purchased a Sigm 9mm. ( YES I KNOW IT IS A GLOK RIP-OFF, BUT ITS WHAT I WANTED FOR PLINKING AROUND WITH.) I was looking into getting a red dot laser. However someone told me that the sigma has an odd sized rail that wont fit most lasers. Is this true??? Im looking to spend about $100 on a laser. Anyone have suggestions on a decent laser about $100 that will fit my sigma without having to buy a special adapter.
i just need a dot laser to play around with about once a month!
The rail on the Sigma series of S&W pistols is the same size and diminutions as others. Buy one anywhere with the proper mount and it will fit. Do a google search for pistol lasers or try Ebay, they usually have a few hundred.
By the way, nothing wrong with a Sigma 9mm.
