Laser Diode Blue Help,i think iv been exposed to radiation?
well, i was trying to make a burning lazer pointer and it said u need a laser diode, so i opened up my dvd player and tryed to remove it, but i couldent find it. I saw this blue piece of glass inside of it and thought it was the laser diode and i got this wired red stuff on my fingers that was underneath it. I dont know what it was, but i gave up trying to find it. I was about to throw it out and i saw a warning label on it saying something like: warning, opening could cause exposure to radiation. Im very scared, plz help
what could the red stuff that came out of it be?
im talking about a dvd rom player on a computer
The warning about not opening DVDs is to avoid viewing the laser directly - not to any radioactive solids.
Edit:...I can only imagine the red material is some plastic insulation from a wire - whatever it is I'm sure you are in no immediate danger.
