I have two laser pointers, but wanted one that will also burn stuff. I've tried looking on eBay, but they dont sell powerful lasers. I've also heard of 'Make your own' lasers, which use the laser diode from dvd players and PS3s, but do these actually burn stuff, or are they just blue? Thanks for your help.
What you want is illegal, which is why you can't find any on eBay.
Laser pointers over 5mW were banned in the U.K. under The General Product Safety Regulations (G.P.S.) 2005, which implement Directive 2001/95/EC.
This law came into force in the UK on 1st October, 2005.
