Large Mirror Mount
Question on improving a table saw?
Due to budgeting/electrical and space limits, I was only able to get a jobsite type table saw (link listed below)
Ok, here is what I have done so far to improve the setup.
1) Made some large feed & side tables that are adjustable height wise to line up exactly with the table saw.
2) Did away with the metal stand and mounted the table saw on a SOLID wood base table that could hold mt everest.
Ok, the table top surface is some hardened type plastic that kinda scuffs(permanently) when plywood and othe rought materials are ran through.
Im curious what you think about the following idea. I was thinking about having a piece made of solid cast iron/steel, etc, but very very thin to place over this surface. The piece would not conflict or extend past the rack & pinion system and would mirror the plate.

get you some very thin strips of high density plastic. these can be glued to your table saws surface without interfering with the blade. you said the table was hardened plastic, make sure that the glue you use will not melt the plastic. i got both the strips and glue from Rockler Woodworking catalog.

Hanging a very large heavy mirror?
I need to what type of brackets to get to hang a very large heavy mirror. The mirror is 8 feet long by 4 feet wide roughly, As for weight, at least 40-50lbs easy.. I want to mount this sideways on a wall.
No the mirror isn't in a frame, i should of added that.
Is the mirror in a frame? If it is then I'd use some kind of drywall anchor (I like those ones that look like spiral macaroni that you screw in and then put a screw in) to hang it by whatever moutns are on the frame.
If it's just glass, go to the hardware section and get a whole pile of mirror mounts and space them about every foot or so around the bottom and a few on the sides and top. You'll probably need the drywall anchor (the push in kind) if the ones you by doesn't already come with them.
