Laboratory Table
Laboratory Table
physics help please? anyone who can answer this is a genius!?

suppose that two horizontal forces are acting upon a 0.25 kg wooden block as it moves across a laboratory table: the two forces are a 5.0 N force pulling the block to the right and a 2.0 N frictional force opposing the motion. the block moves a distance of 1.5 m across the table.

a) what is the work done by the 5.0 N force?
b) what is the work done by the frictional force?
c) what is the work done by the net force acting upon the block?
d) if the block started from rest find its final velocity.
e) if the block started from rest determine its final kenetic energy.

a) Force * displacement in the direction of force = 5*1.5 = 7.5 J

b) - 2.0 N *1.5 m = - 3 J

c) [5-2]* 1.5 = 4.5 J

e) If the block started from rest determine its final kenetic energy.
1/2 mv^2 = 4.5 J

d)
v^2 = 2*4.5/m = 9/0.25
v = 6 m/s

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A shaker is a device used in chemistry and biology laboratories to stir liquids. A typical shaker has a table board that oscillates horizontally, powered by an electric motor. The liquids to be stirred are held in beakers or Erlenmeyer flasks that are placed over the table; or, sometimes, in test tubes or vials that are nested into holes in the plate. Shakers have been replaced by magnetic stirrers for many purposes, but are still favored for some situations. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F. A. what is the work done by the 5-N force?

B. what is the work done by the net force acting upon the block?

C. which of these two values should you use to find the increase in kinetic energy of the block? explain.

D. what happens to the energy asses to the system via the work done by the 5-N force? can it all be accounted for? explain.

E. if the block started from rest, what areits kinetic energy and velocity at the end of the 1.5-m motion?

bro, i took physics a few years ago but i dont remember the equations or formulas. send some more info. N = newtons
