Infrared Laser Clear (laser can pass thru), viscous, easy-to-find substances?
It's for a chemistry experiment. So far I've: -glycerol -mineral oil
They should be slow-moving, and very viscous, but not solid; they have to be liquid. Furthermore, I have to be able to pass a infrared laser sensor through the liquid without the sensor picking up the liquid as an object. Also, they can't be ridiculously hard to find substances, nor dangerous ones.

Uh..thx Johnnie 8, but my question actually revolved around viscous substances that pass thru laser. I'm actually using a infrared sensor, which isn't as powerful as the lasers NASA uses. But thx for the info!

In the last years, the employment of laser for more and more medical treatments has had an esponential growth. The effects of the laser radiation arent easily standardizable, because of dermatological differences showed from differents tissues. This indetermination influences the therapeutics results obtained, and, in the majority of cases, they are unsatisfactories. Infrared imaging can be used for a realtime monitoring of the lasertissue interaction. This technique can give information about the reaction of the tissue in the specific region treated. In this study has been evaluated the employment of a novel approach based on this technology for the control and optimization of laser parameters in plane angioma therapy in order to make treatments safer and more efficient. If you shot those infrared lasers that guard those priceless things at the museums with a class b or a laser pointer, would the alarm activate?
In a properly-designed infrared laser security system, the lasers and detectors would be recessed into deep cavities. This would mean you would have to put your hand into the path of the beam in order to achieve line of sight to the detector.
Furthermore, the alarm is activated when the detector stops getting laser light shone on it. Shining more laser light of a different frequency would not trip the alarm.
