Can a high powered laser burn through a mirror?

A laser is light and a mirror reflects light so will the mirror reflect the laser because it is light or is it possible that the laser has enough power to simply burn through the mirror.

No mirror is 100% reflective, and any energy not reflected is absorbed. That absorbed energy will heat up the mirror, and if the beam is energetic enough the mirror will indeed melt.

In principle, a "good" mirror would at least be a partial defense against a high power laser, but I suspect that such a mirror would be very difficult to maintain in battlefield conditions. The slightest amount of dust would severely degrade its effectiveness and allow the beam to burn through very quickly
