High Power Laser
High powered laser?
How can i turn my red laser into a high powered laser(burns and cuts through things). Are there any easy ways that dont have to do with taking apart a DVD burner or welding things together because i don't have those kinds of things lying around my house. Can i do it with things that an average person would have lying around the house or that i can buy for real cheap?
If you don't have the tools, for get it. The LED type lasers are rated in milliwatts, and no where near what you want. There are high power laser diodes, but they top out at about 3 to 5 watts. They won't burn through much of anything, other than the retina of your eyes. Reflected laser energy can be just as dangerous as what comes out of the device.
IF you really want a high power laser, then find a copy of Scientific America's Junior Scientist that features the construction of a CO2 laser. A 36 inch CO2 laser will cut thin metal. The construction of this laser, however, is going to require skills that you apparently do not have, so this is all academic, unless you go after the skills needed, as well as the tools. For the last part of your question, no, absolutely not. Welding is not required at all, but optical alignment of mirrors used is, as well as perfect as you can get it end mirrors, one being 100% reflective, the other one being about 95 to 98% reflective. I think you need to do some research into just what a laser is and how it operates before trying to build one. An optically pumped laser would be a good place to start.

Development of High Power Fiber Laser Technologies $98.77 The development of high power fiber laser and technologies are covered in this thesis. The first part of the thesis simulates the signal gain spectrum in an erbiumytterbium fiber amplifier, which can be implemented in fiber laser systems to generate high power output. The second part proposes the use of gainguided (GG) optical fibers to achieve high power modelocked fiber lasers. The last part of the thesis investigates cylindrical vector (CV) beams generation from fiber laser system using a birefringent crystal. My eye power is too high, planning on taking a laser surgery ? NEED help and ADVICE?
My left eye power is 6 and Right eye is 9. I know that is too high. I went to a eye clinic recently. Doc told me to take up zyoptic laser eye surgery, so that i no longer have to wear spectacle.
What i want to know is
1) Is laser eye surgery SAFE ?
2) Will i get my vision fully after surgery?
If u do have anything say please tell......
Always get a second opinion. And visit a dr that actually DOES the surgery because they will have to approve you for it anyway.
It's supposed to be pretty safe now, but of course there are no guarantees. You might have your vision totally corrected or you might not. Some people have to have follow up surgeries.
I know a few people who've had it done and they've all been pleased with the results.
