question: a person whose eyes are 1.70 m above the floor stands in front of a plane mirror. the top of her head is 0.12 m above her eyes. (a) what is the height of the shortest mirror in which she can see her entire image? (b) how far above the floor should the bottom edge of the mirror be placed?
approach: (a) i divded 1.70 by 2 and obtained 0.85 m (b) i got 0.12 m since that's the height the eye ignores from the bottom. i think?
confirmation of my approach will surely help me with my confusion with the optics chapter!
i think add 1.70m, 0.12m i.e 1.82 and divide it by 2 i.e 0.91m.
(a) so,u must need 0.91m high mirror.
(b) the mirror should be placed at 0.91m above the floor.
