Half Wave Rectifier Diode Voltage
Diode applications - rectifiers?
Half wave Rectification during Negative Half-cycle of Input Voltage.
The average value of the half wave output voltage can be measured by a dc voltmeter and is mathematically given by:
V(average) = Vp(out) / pi
How do you prove this equation is correct?

You just want how? Not the actual answer?
You take the half wave rectified waveform and integrate it over one cycle to get the average value. That is what the meter responds to.
