The power needed to create a Red Laser Beam?
How many mW does a red laser need to have to create a red beam? Does any red laser have a beam?
If not, then how many mW does a green laser have to have to create a green beam? (minimum mW)
Okay, 3 questions, 3 answers.
1) The redness of a laser's output light is not determined by how much power goes into the laser.
A laser can be made to emit red light, with *any* power output. 1mW, 1kW, 1MW. It's still red light, but its brightness will vary according to how powerful the laser is.
2) Yes. Some lasers produce beams. You can also produce other geometries, but linear cavities are the most common.
3) A laser can be designed to produce green light at any power output. 1mW, 1kW, etc.etc. They will generate light with the same wavelength, but the power in the beam is goverend by the engineer and the budget for the project.
