30mW true green laser?

i justgot a 30mW true green laser and i am wondering if they're legal in america (has no IR filter). also what can a laser with no IR filter do (how dangerous). and should i get one (and where if so)

A laser 5mW or higher can cause irreversible eye damage in about 1/100th of a second.

They're not an intelligent thing to own, unless you have considerable experience in their operation, proper eye/skin/ect protection, and a safe place to lock them.

these are specialist devices. if you have to ask, you don't have the experience to use one. if you're one of the idiots who thinks it's trendy to point such a laser at people or objects, you need your head examined.

i've worked with 10 and 20 *watt* lasers. they're useful tools, but they still scare the hell out of me...
