Holography question: Hoping to find green-sensitive plates suitable for reflection and transmission exposures
Laser: 15mW 532nm DPSS module
It is my hope (perhaps naively) that I can find somewhere to purchase a single case of plates (pricey) with which I can shoot both reflection holograms for fun and transmission holograms for experimentation.
I had high hopes for the VRP-M plates offered by Integraf until I went back and took a second look - in their general description of the product, they claim them to be suitable for both, but when I read further they say the VRP-M are OK for reflection, but any transmission exposures I wish to make should be handled by the VRP plates...
Does anyone know where to find plates that will work for both?
Go with the VRP-M.
The VRP-M is good for both reflection and transmission holograms, but it particularly good for reflection holograms, where as the VRP is generally designed for transmission holograms only.
The emulsions are exactly the same, it just that the VRP has a anti-halation layer that optimizes the diffraction efficiency for transmission holograms. The VRP-M, on the other hand, does not have anti-halation. Since you generally don't want an anti-halation backing for reflection holograms, most holographers who want to do both reflection and transmission work use the VRP-M.

DPSS / Light test run
Financial aid as a single mother?
I am returning as a new student to finish my bachelors degree in business. I was enrolled but withdrew so they said id be a returning student. As far as financial aid and loans are concerned, i still owe from attending previous colleges. However i have been told that now that i have a son as a single mother that my aid should be higher? or that there are more benefits out there? i even heard that welfare/dpss will pay for your school? Anyone knowledgeable on this? i will mostly likely call my worker anyways but any additional help would be greatly appreciated!
well if you file fafsa your aid should be higher. the fact that you have a child should mean that you are a independent student. also you are independent if you are over the age of 24. this means they will base your aid off of your income for the entire year. also they will ask you if you have any dependents that will recieve more then half of your aid. and since you have a son, your income will be stretched furthers. thus you should get enough aid to cover the cost of living and tuition. but it also depends on whether or not you are current on the loans you have now. i dont know if you would recieve aid if you havent been making the payment on the loans you had previously. and i have never heard of welfare giving out money for school, but maybe it depends on the state.
