Dioder Lighting
White or Multicolor IKEA Dioder Light, and how many?
I just wall-mounted my TV yesterday (it was a lot easier than I thought; I'm glad I didn't shell out the $200+), and I was interested in an idea I had a while ago, which was installing ambient lighting to give it a bit of "pop". I found out about the IKEA Dioder, which I hear is great for ambient lighting if it's a DIY project and you don't want to buy a Philips television. My question is which package I should go with: the white or multicolor pack. And how many packs should I get for a 32". I'm pretty sure I only need one, since people were using two for 50"+.
Backlights are supposed to be at or near 6500k (color temp). I went to the Ikea website but it doesn't list the color temp for these lights. Normally a florescent light is used but it's worth a try. I'm sure you can return it if it's no to your liking. Go with the white, you don't want colored lights behind your tv
