No Sound from PS3 DTS cable?!?!?

Hello!
And thanks for your answers

A couple of days ago, i purchased a DTS cable for my (40GB) PS3. The cable i purchased is the one that Sony sells for The PS2 and PS3. Anyway, i don't get sound when i plug the cable into my Surround Sound Receiver. What am i doing wrong? Why am i not getting sound from the cable?

But before you answer let me clarify a few things:

1.) My TV is a Samsung 22 inch (LN22B460) - with HDMI cable plugged in.
2.) My Surround Sound Receiver is YAMAHA HTR-5930
3.) Yes the DTS cable works. The red diode light turns on when plugged into PS3. Also works on TV
4.) yes, i have optical out set, and DB/DVD set to bit-stream.
5.) Yes my receiver CAN decode DTS and Dolby Digital
6.) i have my receiver set for Pro Logic..or DTS to make sure the cable is detected but i still don't get sound. What do i do?

I do what the owner manuals say for my receiver and PS3 and still no sound. Please help!!! Thanks

It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. You have all the settings on your ps3 set up right. Try going into the settings on your receiver. You probably need to set the digital optical input on the receiver. And make sure you have the output set to whatever sound system you are using. Also make sure it is plugged into an audio-in port lol.

Wyked Illuzionz Lights Up at Myrtle Beach Bike Week 2008
