Diode Switch Circuits

TLC555 Timer Circuit?
Im trying to create a circuit to send a pulse from a 12 volt battery about 2 times a second. What i have so far is a 555 (i have no clue how to hook this up) through a 1n4001 diode to a 12VDC relay (the pulses from the 555 will switch the relay on) through a 1n4148 diode and out to a coil. Am i missing anything?
And could you tell me what the pins are on the 555 and what i need to do to make this work?
this site tells you all you need to know about the 555
http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/gadgets/555/555.html
You may need a transistor to drive the relay, the 555 can only drive small relays. Put the diode in parallel with the coil to protect the 555, not in series, and put the coil of the relay between the 555 output and 12 volts DC, the 555 can drive a more current that way.

SystemOnChip Circuits $132.24 This thesis is written about the results of a research project the objective of which was the development of a new packet switched NetworkonChip IIP for MultiProcessor SystemonChip (MPSoe circuits. The selected network topology was the XGFT topology as was explained earlier. Due to the small amount of available human resources usable in this oneman project, it would have been impossible to implement a complete IIP block following all of the common design practices during the project. Another NOC with a 2D mesh topology was also designed so as to compare it with the XGFT NOC as was explained earlier. To make the different NOCs more comparable with each other the NOCs had to be implemented with the same switch technology as will be explained later in this thesis. This design work included the development of the routing algorithms for both of the NOCs, the switch nodes, and generic NOC generators so that different NOC configurations could be generated for simulations. The performance simulations required special simulation arrangements so that appropriate comparable information of the NOCss performance could have been achieved. Transfer Switch $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Transfer switches allow switching from a primary power source to a secondary or tertiary power source and are employed in some electrical power distribution systems. Most often transfer switches can be seen where emergency power generators are used to back up power from the utility source. The transfer switch allows safely switching from utility power to emergency generator power while maintaining isolation of each source from the other. The switch may be either a manual switch, an automatic switch, or a combination of manual and automatic. In a home during a power outage, for example, the transfer switch allows isolation of the owners critical circuits (e.g. cooling, refrigerator, lighting) from the utility service, allowing for operation of the generator without backfeeding to the utility, which can damage utility equipment and hurt (or kill) utility workers. reed switch and neon vs transistor and diode bedini circuit aka mechanical switching
Can you confirm that what I'm saying is right (electronics engineering student)?
There is an IR transmitter circuit with an IR emmitter diode, and an IR reciever circuit, with an IR phototransistor reciever.
The IR emmiter diode has a switch in series with it.
The IR reciever circuit has a red LED in series with the reciever circuit's phototransistor reciever.
Now this is what I conclude (check this):
Since the LED lights up only when the circuit of the IR transmitter is completed by the switch, the emmiter didode will only transmit with a complete circuit and with current flowing thorugh it. This explains why when closing and opening the switch, we can see the light in the reciever circuit turn on and off.
To confirm the probability that you are right, without using direct measurement (scope, meters), you would observe the time relation between turning the switch on and off and the emission of light from the led.
To confirm the truth that you are right, you would use direct measurement.
(No offense, but it is " i before e except after c " - i.e. "receiver" )
