Diode Resistor
Will pick best ans.........How do you find the voltage across a diode-resistor??
Details:
You have a series circuit consisting of a dc power supply, a 90 ohm resistor and a diode. If the measured current in the circuit is 21 mA, and the saturation current for the diode is 0.010 mA, And the voltage drop across the diode is 0.198 volts, Assuming the diode temperature is 300 K ... how do you find the voltage across the diode-resistor combination??

Very strange circuit, however I would simply take the 21ma and multiply it times the resistor. V=IR and add the drop across the diode to come up with the total voltage. or
.021 x 90 + .198 = 2.088
What is strange about this is usually a si diode will have a .6V drop across and a ge diode will have .3V, but I guess they are acting a little strange because of the temperature.

Can anyone tell me why a diode act as a resistor in a small signal AC power supply model?
Small signal model (forward bias) 0.7 voltage drop.
They don't unless the diode is damaged, or your model is faulty, or you are using a very high current rectifier in a low current application.
