Diode Rectifier Bridge Circuits
Power Supply Board Layout?
Hey All I had an earlier question about power board design and it was very well answered with this:
You must set an initial upper limit to be able to come up with a circuit diagram....
Also, I doubt that you "find a good website" for your requirement....
Basically, start with the usual centre tap transformer and bridge rectifier, with an out put of - say - + and - 10 volts.
Then limit the positive side with a 7 Volt Zener diode, and branch off for the 7 Volt boards.
The two 5 Volts are regulated by a ICs 7805 and 7905.
And then you add volt meters in parallel and Amp meters in series wherever you need them.
MY QUESTION NOW: Where can I get the centre tap transformer and bridge rectifier? How can I put them together or can I just buy a stadard 10V supply? Also I need to be able to lay this out on a circuit diagram, any ideas? Thanks
Don't bother building anything. A quality transformer made in the US alone will be more expensive than a complete power supply from a Chinese manufacturer. And probably not work any better...
You can buy parts in the US e.g. at

www.mouser.com
But again... the parts alone will cost you more than a complete product these days.

-diodes with an use of selective non polar capacitor in series @ ac input circuit please consider as this is an urgent for one project ending.
